RE: mods needed

Have you thought about changing out the old plastic faucet in the bathroom. How about a new one lever faucet, with the integrated sprayer in the kitchen? These were some of the 1st modifications I performed that really made a difference... Do they hook up the same way as a normal faucet in the house? So i can use any type i find from home depot instead of the over exspensive platic ones from trailer dealerships? I already broke the kitchen one.

RE: How do you do it??? Large campers in the cities...

I live in Calgary Canada Over a million people in my city, one neighbor is 7 feet from my hous the other neiighbor is around 10 ft from my house, no rv parking , pay $650 a year and park out of the city, major pain in the ass but when you live in a big city what can you really do?? I did build a 23x26 garage where i could have parked my trailer but would rather have my garage as its my man cave to hang otu in haha.

Water pump runs every 4 mintes or so

So my water pump runs for 1 second every 3-6 minutes or so. Last time it was doing this i found the plug on my water heater having a very slow drip come out. I fixed that, and now i have the pump running again. I cant find any leaks or anywhere wet. Could anything else be doing this or any way of diagnosing this leak? Its really annoying when you goto bed and forget to turn off the water pump and thing runs all night long every few minutes or so. My trailers is a 1998 kit companion 5th wheel. Thanks

RE: Camping around the ocean west coast Canada and US maybe

hook, line and sinker.................. Alright took a little too seriously, sorry, but just for that comment im gonna have to buy up some BC land like the rest of my albertans and imigrate on over.:) There isn't too much BC land left that is affordable. With Americans scooping up coastal property and Albertans snagging everything in the Kootenays & Okanagan, even RV-sized lots are selling for hundreds of thousands. We'd consider moving north but Gary is already there ... the only good thing about that is it's keeping property prices down. :B Same thing happening here in Calgary with everybody move here. I bought my house for 157,000 its now worth close to 400,000 cause of everybody jacking up the prices cause to many people showing up and buying everything leaving a shortage.

RE: Camping around the ocean west coast Canada and US maybe

With most BC provincial parks you'll be camped in the woods a short walk from the shore. There are a few places where you camp on ocean front dunes. Some places that come to mind (where I've either camped or visited): Queen Charlotte Islands - north island, Agate Beach (Nagoon sp? Prov Park); closest I can think of to camping right on the shore. There are several forest rec sites with near-beach camping on these islands. Vancouver Island: Cape Scott PP - hike in camping on the beach Malcom Island - community park with camping overlooking the water (inland ocean) Bamfield - nearby First Nations band operates a campground on dunes (north end of West Coast Trail) Port Renfrew - another First Nations CG (south end of WCT) on spit China Beach PP - CG in 2nd growth woods French Beach PP - CG in older woods with good access to beach Ruckle PP, Saltspring Island - walk-in sites overlooking ferry boat passage Rathtrevor PP, Miracle Beach PP - CG in woods Washington: Olympic Nat Park - one ocean front campground County park west of Port Angeles Washington State Parks - many around Puget Sound, most with short walks to beach. Many are former forts with gun emplacements. Cape Disappointment SP - north side of Columbia river mouth. Camping just behind ocean front dunes. No views of water, but close. Oregon State Parks - many Cape Blanco SP - CG on bluff above ocean in woods Thanks for the tips as much as i would love to go back to the island it costs too much to take the ferry with the 5ver, so looking around the west coast on this side.

RE: Camping around the ocean west coast Canada and US maybe

For heavens sake Paul...he's from Alberta...don't give him that list..next thing you'll have them red/white license plates everywhere and they breed...holy cow... Make up another list....one that includes..mmm....I-5 in either direction on a Friday afternoon of a long weekend around Seattle? Gary Haupt Thanks for your help there ass hat!Should be lucky to have some money invested in your exspensive province when we come to visit. I amm from Calgary and in my city it is very very hard to find somebody that was actually born and raised here like me, so spare me your provincial imigration******and get off your soap box.

Camping around the ocean west coast Canada and US maybe

I am looking for some really nice places to camp around the ocean around Vancouver and lower down towards the border, maybe even some spots on the us side too. Look for provincial campgrounds if possible as it save the cash flow a bit. I am hauling a 25ft fifth wheel and power and sewage is not necessary as I am self sufficient too. So tell me where you go and links would also be really great too. Thanks

RE: Hot water heater leaking

On my hot water heater that large bolt was nylon and it was cracked. Tried to take it out to wrap with Teflon tape and it fell apart. Was able to buy a package of two at the RV store. On some hot water heaters the large bolt also is the anode rod which needs to be replaced periodically as it is designed to disintegrate and save the tank itself. Mine is deff not plastic but thanks for the tip on the Anode rod!! That totaly makes sense.

Hot water heater leaking

I have a 98 kit companaion 25ft 5th wheel, the hot water tank is laeking. It leaks at where it looks like you would drain it. Its a instant start heater, and when you open the panel on the outside of the trailer there is a huge bolt(the main drain i take it??). It is leaking very slowly from the threads. How tight should these nuts be? How do i take it off, i dont have a socket that big and should i just put some thread tape on it? Thanks
